{ eye } trinsic

ever wonder what the color of your eye looks like up close?
i came across these photos by suren manvelyan from his 'your beautiful eye' collection while i was stumbling through the web on my walk to class yesterday.  i couldn't resist sharing them.  i don't know if i see their beauty due to my obsession with the anatomy of the human body, but i just find these photos stunning.  the photos exhibit the different color patterns that exist to give us those flashy blues, emerald greens and creamy, chocolate browns.  it amazes me how suren was able to capture this micro detail of the interworkings of our physiological self to show it's true beauty.  rather than just seeing an iris (the color portion of our eye) or an eyeball, i was drawn in by the captivating entanglement of fibers that resemble rough waves and desert storms. (is this what they mean when they say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder??)
